Storm picked eighth in A-R-C Preseason Poll

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Simpson women's soccer team has been picked eighth in the American Rivers Conference Coaches' Preseason Poll, announced today by the A-R-C Monday. Defending regular season and tournament champion, Loras, was picked to finish first again.

Going into his second year at the helm for the Storm, Jeremy Reinert brings back all 11 starters from a year ago. Last season, the team went 4-12 and 2-6 in league play.

Simpson had two players at the top of the scoring chart in 2018 as both Baileigh Nagy and Aimee Shrock return after pacing the team with three goals each. Honorable mention all-conference performer Dani Marquez is back for her senior campaign after earning conference honors for a second-straight year.

The Storm kickoff the year on Friday, Aug. 30 on the road at Westminster (Mo.). Start time is slated for 4 p.m. and the home opener will be on Sept. 4 against William Penn at 7 p.m.
