The Storm (27-2) and Iowa Conference MVP Kate Nielsen are looking to advance the round of eight for the first time in three tries, but will have to do so against a team they have never beaten. The Warhawks (23-6) are a perfect 3-0 against Simpson in the NCAA Tournament, ending Simpson's seasons in 1983, 2008 and 2009. The Warhawks are led by 6-foot-1 All-Wisconsin Conference center Courtney Kumerow, who averages 13.3 points and nearly 1.5 blocked shots per game.

The other teams competing in the Whitewater Sectional are No. 2 Hope and unranked St. Thomas. The Flying Dutch (28-1) cruised through the First and Second Rounds, beating Hanover 64-37 and Ohio Northern 63-48. A year removed from an appearance in the Final Four, the Tommies (24-5) upset Calvin (64-62) and Cornell (53-52) on the first weekend of the tournament.

Hope and St. Thomas tip off at 5 p.m. with Simpson and UW-Whitewater to follow. The winners will play Saturday at 7 p.m. with a trip to the Final Four on the line.
