Simpson will travel to Wisconsin for NCAA Third Round
INDIANOLA, Iowa – The No. 10 Simpson women's basketball team learned Sunday it will travel to Whitewater, Wis. for the third round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship, which begins Friday, March 8.
The Storm (27-2) hosted the first two rounds of the tournament on March 1-2, beating Westminster (Mo.) 91-58 on Friday and No. 18 UW-Stevens Point 88-84 on Saturday.
Simpson will face host No. 22 UW-Whitewater (23-6) at the Williams Center in the round of 16 on Friday. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
No. 2 Hope (28-1) faces St. Thomas (24-5) in the sectional's other matchup, beginning at 5 p.m.
The third-round winners will play in the quarterfinlas on Saturday at 7 p.m. for a spot in the Final Four, held March 15-16 in Holland, Mich.
