Greenwalt, Thompson earn all-conference honors on day two
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Austin Greenwalt and Trey Thompson finished day two of the American Rivers Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships as all-conference performers for Simpson on Friday.
Greenwalt took two days to receive the honor in the decathlon. He finished with 5,675 points for second place by winning the long jump, high jump, 110-meter hurdles and javelin. Thompson garnered second in the 10,000 meters with a blistering time of 32:04.77.
Jonathan Facio just missed earning all-conference honors with a fourth-place nod in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Facio's time of 9:28.68 is the second-fastest mark in program history.
Sam Adeniyi and Elliott Meyer both advance to the 110-meter hurdles finals on Saturday after finishing sixth and seventh, respectively. Jordan Coughenour moves in the 400-meter hurdles after running a 54.33 for fourth. Kellen Fitch came in second in the 200-meter dash to advance to the finals.
The 4x800-meter relay of Tyler Combs, Josh Paulson, Steve Cruz-Castro and Levi Lefebure earned fifth.
On Thursday, Josh Dietrich tossed the javelin 47.73 meters for fifth place.
Action will resume on Saturday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for the final day of the A-R-C Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
