Simpson performs well at Prairie Wolf Indoor Invite
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Jonathan Facio and the 4x400-meter relay both finished second at the Prairie Wolf Indoor Invitational to highlight the Simpson men's track and field team on Friday.
Facio crossed the finish in 8:57.98 during the 3,000-meter race, coming within a second of first place.
Travis Tupper, Jordan Coughenour, Craig Garrison and Kirk Wicks teamed up for a time of 3:26.81 in the 4x400.
The Storm competed well in both the 1,000-meter race and mile. Josh Paulson, Levi Lefebure and Ryan Courtney finished in order to claim spots fourth through sixth in the 1,000. Courtney and Paulson finished back-to-back in the mile to earn third and fourth, respectively.
During the 800-meter race, Jordan Baldwin earned ninth and Cole Jacobsen was not far behind with a 11th-place result.
Tupper tallied a fourth-place nod in the 60-yard dash and a fifth-place mark in the 400-meters. Wicks received sixth place in the 400 for his efforts.
Away from the track, Carter Berkey had a distance of 19 feet, 9.75 inches in the long up, which landed him a fifth-place result. Austin Greenwalt soared 18 feet, 10.50 inches in the event.
Simpson will travel to the Wartburg Indoor Select meet on Feb. 1 and wrap-up competition the following day, Feb. 2.
