Simpson ties for fifth in final fall event
PANORA, Iowa - The Simpson College men's golf team tied for fifth at the SWCC Premier Invite to wrap up its fall season on Tuesday.
The Storm were coming off a team victory in its home event last week and were led by freshman Jacob Peterson for the second time this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Peterson, playing as an individual, fired rounds of 78 and 77 to take 17th place overall.
- The Storm tied for fifth place out of eight teams, shooting totals of 320 and 313 for a two-day total of 633.
- Jack Wahman shot the team's best round on the first day with a 74, putting him in a tie for fourth, but couldn't maintain his momentum in round 2.
- Avin Legg was the top Storm performer in the scoring lineup, taking 21st overall with two solid rounds of 79's.
UP NEXT
The Storm complete its fall season and will return to action in the spring, which will feature more action in the lead up to the men's conference championship.
