Conference releases preseason men’s golf poll
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The American Rivers Conference announced the Men's Golf Preseason Coaches Poll on Tuesday afternoon.
The Storm checked in at eighth in the poll, coming off a successful fall season that included winning their host tournament, the Simpson Fall Invite.
"We are excited to get the spring season started and especially looking forward to the A-R-C Championship at Glen Oaks Country Club," said Storm head coach Jeremy Johnson. "It is a great venue and we hope our fall and spring schedule prepares us well to improve on last season's finish."
2023 IN REVIEW
- The Storm were as high as fifth in last year's A-R-C Championships, eventually taking eighth place after the three-day event.
- Sophomore Jack Wahman led the Storm at the event, finishing 18th overall with rounds of 80, 79, and 80.
- In the fall, the Storm improved their stroke average from the entire 2022-23 season by about seven strokes to a 313.7.
- The team also won the Simpson Fall Invite with a score of 302, the team's best individual round from its scoring lineup since 2018.
- All four players that scored for the Storm finished in the top 10 individually to win the event.
