Perrin earns conference golfer of the week award

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - After a top five finish at his home event, Blake Perrin of the Simpson College men's golf team earned the American Rivers Conference Men's Golfer of the Week award.

The award is Perrin's first career weekly honor, earned after a terrific showing at Simpson's home event last week.

Perrin finished in a tie for fourth with a score of 74, his second-lowest round of the year. He helped the Storm to a second-place team finish, as the team recorded its second-best round score in a competition since 2018.

Perrin recorded his second top five finish of the season as he led the Storm at an event for the fourth time this year overall, as well as the third straight time. Perrin is the first Storm golfer to receive a weekly honor since the 2019 season.

"Blake is well-deserving of this award," said Storm head coach Jeremy Johnson. "He has put in a lot of work over the winter and it is clear that it's starting to pay off."

The Storm return to action next week at the Redtail Spring Shootout, the team's final tournament before the A-R-C Championships at the end of the month.
