Wahman leads Storm to top five finish

MARION, Iowa - Jack Wahman fired a 72 to tie his career-best score on day one of the Mount Mercy Invitational, as the Simpson College men's golf team took fifth place overall.

The Storm were the top American Rivers Conference team, defeating Coe, Loras, and Buena Vista en route to finishing fifth out of 14 teams. Wahman ended up tying for 10th individually, with rounds of 72 and 76 for a two-day total of 148.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Wahman tied his career best with a 72 on day one to pace the Storm.
  • Blake Perrin (74) and Bradley Kofoed (77) also tied their career bests during the tournament.
  • Max Trembly fired back-to-back rounds of 77 and 76, improving on his collegiate debut last weekend by seven strokes.
  • Of the 16 total rounds from the eight Simpson players, half of them were under 80.

UP NEXT

The team looks to build on its positive performance with a trip to Buena Vista next Saturday.
