Storm men claim second in home tourney
INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Simpson College men's golf team took the silver medal in its home event, the Storm Spring Classic, on Wednesday.
The Storm's top lineup, the Simpson Red team, shot a 303 on the day, the team's second best overall score in a round since the opening round of the Wartburg Fall Invite in 2018. Blake Perrin led the Storm with his second top five finish of the season.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Perrin tied for fourth with a 74, his second-lowest round of the season.
- Jack Wahman shot a 75 to tie for sixth, while Avin Legg recorded the same score while playing on the Simpson Gold squad.
- Max Trembly earned his third top 10 finish of the season with a 76.
- Isaac Roe (78) and Bradley Kofoed (79) each shot under 80 for Simpson Red, keeping all five members under the 80-stroke mark.
- Jackson Mears broke 80 for the first time on the year with a score of 79.
- Simpson Gold took fourth as a team with a score of 318.
UP NEXT
The Storm are in action tomorrow in Des Moines for a dual match with rival Central.
