
Eight student-athletes named to CSC Academic All-District Team
INDIANOLA, Iowa – Four golfers and four gymnasts have earned placement on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Team, giving Simpson 46 total academic all-district performers for the 2023-24 year.
Taylor Elam, Isaac Roe, Madeline Streicher and Jack Wahman were Simpson's honorees from the men's and women's golf teams, while Annika Cole, Milo Staley, Jake Sweeten and Kaelyn Tally achieved the honor to represent the men's and women's gymnastics programs.
The At-Large program includes student-athletes who participate in sports that do not have their own Academic All-America teams (football, men's & women's soccer, volleyball, men's & women's basketball, men's & women's swimming & diving, baseball, softball, men's & women's tennis, men's & women's cross country/track & field).
In order to be considered for the CSC Academic All-District and All-America Teams, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or better with at least one full year at his or her institution. Golfers must have competed in 70 percent of the team's total varsity events that kept a team score, while gymnasts must be ranked in top 75 in an event within their division.
