Simpson men tie for eighth in Storm Lake

STORM LAKE, Iowa - Both the Simpson College men and women's golf teams finished up the weekend at the Buena Vista Open, with Madeline Streicher being the standout performer on either side with a top five individual finish.

WOMEN'S RECAP
Streicher recorded her ninth career top five finish at Simpson, after five in 2021-22 and three last season. The junior standout carded the best round from any Storm female golfer this season with a 78 on day one, finishing with a two-day total of 163.

Freshman Kaylin Long continued her impressive start to her collegiate career by tying for 10th, finishing with a score of 169 over the two-day tournament. As a team, the Storm took eighth, firing scores of 351 and 352 as a team.

MEN'S RECAP
Isaac Roe, playing as an individual this week, led the Storm men. Roe shot his career best on day two, firing an impressive round of 73. Roe finished just inside the top 20, pacing the team that tied for eighth overall in a 14 team field.

Blake Perrin and Jack Wahman were at the top of the Storm scoring lineup, with each player shooting 79 or below on each day. Max Trembly carded a 74 on day two, his best round as a Storm player and the third-best round of any Storm player this season.

The men do not return to action until Oct. 2, while the women are in action on Wednesday for the Simpson Fall Invite.
