Riordan headlines men’s all-conference selections

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Simpson senior Conor Riordan was placed on the American Rivers All-Conference Men's Basketball First Team for the third time in his career, while Adam Reiter and Kyle Wagner added second team honors for the second-straight year, as voted on by the league's nine head coaches.

Riordan finished third in the league in scoring at 20.1 points per game while making 52.5% of his shots. Reiter was just shy of a double-double average for the season with 15.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per outing. Wagner filled the statsheet late in the year to end with an average of 15.0 points.

The Storm men's basketball team reached the A-R-C Tournament Semifinals for the second-straight campaign after winning the last three games of the regular season to make the tournament, then defeated Buena Vista on the road in the opening round. Simpson ended with a 14-13 record and went 7-9 against league foes.

Conor Riordan | First Team, Guard
• Senior from Ankeny, Iowa
• Third in the league in scoring at 20.1 points per game and had the second-most total points scored at 544
• Had a free throw percentage of 93.1% for third in the nation with only nine misses in 104 attempts
• Scored more than 20 points in 18 contests this season with a career-high 39 against Greenville on Nov. 23, 2019
• Finished the season with five-straight outings averaging 23.8 ppg
• Moved into eighth on the all-time scoring list with 1,533 career points
• Named A-R-C Player of the Week on Nov. 25 and Feb. 24
• Earned his third-straight all-conference first team selection

Adam Reiter | Second Team, Center
• Senior from Ankeny, Iowa
• Fell short of averaging a double-double with 15.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per contest
• Finished with 11 double-doubles to pace the conference
• Connected on 62.7% of his shots for first in the league
• Had a span of four-straight games with a double-double against conference foes
• Named A-R-C Player of the Week on Dec. 30
• Second-straight all-conference second team honor

Kyle Wagner | Second Team, Forward
• Senior from Manning, Iowa
• Ended with a career-high 15.0 points per outing during the season
• Scored 31 points against Wartburg on 12-of-18 shooting and five makes from long range for a career best in points scored
• Tallied 21 games scoring more than 10 points in a contest
• Second-straight all-conference second team honor
