Storm unable to slow Coe in home defeat

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Collin Lister tied a career-high and two other players reached double figures as Simpson dropped an 80-60 contest to Coe on Wednesday.

The Storm (10-12, 4-9 A-R-C) couldn't get a shot to fall by connecting on just 32.4% of their shots for the team's lowest percentage since shooting 31.1% against Buena Vista on Feb. 1, 2017. The Kohawks (13-9, 8-5 A-R-C) shot 50% to snap a three-game home win streak for Simpson.

Lister ended with 12 points by going 3-for-6 from behind the arc to grab his sixth career double-digit effort. Conor Riordan paced the team with 14 points, and Adam Reiter notched his 10th double-double this season with 12 points and 10 boards.

Simpson held a tight 3-2 lead after Riordan opened the scoring lid with a triple. Coe answered with a 7-2 run to find some breathing room before pushing the contest to 21-13 to take the momentum.

The Storm were down by six at the halfway point of the first frame before the guests used six minutes of game action to push the lead to 16 at 35-19. Coe took a 38-26 tilt into the break after connecting on 48.3% of its shots.

In the second period, Simpson tallied a 40.6% shooting clip as four players tallied six or more points in the frame. Bryce Yoder drained two triples in eight minutes of action for the Storm. Simpson ended with 23 bench points, 11 more than its counterpart during the contest.
