Storm come up empty in Dubuque
DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Storm wrestling team dropped a pair of American Rivers Conference duals on Wednesday, falling 38-10 to No. 6 Loras and 37-12 to Dubuque.
Zach Stewart (141) went 2-0 to lead the Storm (7-7, 2-6 A-R-C) in their final two duals of the season. He posted a 12-2 major decision over Loras' Mason McMillen and a 9-4 decision over Dubuque's Anthony Urrea, giving the junior 11 wins in his last 12 matches.
Dylan McChesney (125) started out the dual with the Duhawks (12-1, 7-1 A-R-C) with a 4-2 win over Jared Hensley, and Colton Kinnison (285) added a 3-1 decision in the final bout against Dakoda Powell.
Against the Spartans (5-8, 3-5 A-R-C), Jakob Slavin (165) and Shyler Langley (174) posted back-to-back wins for nine of Simpson's team points. Slavin was victorious over Jessy Diaz in overtime, 3-1, and Langley recorded his ninth pin of the season in 6:12 against Nicco Mazzanti.
