Storm wrestling drops pair of A-R-C duals
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – After nearly a three-week hiatus, the Simpson College wrestling team returned to the mats to face Coe and Luther in a pair of American Rivers Conference duals on Thursday.
The Storm (5-4) started the afternoon with a 46-4 loss to Coe (8-4) before falling 39-8 to Luther (7-4) in the nightcap.
Against the Kohawks, Sam McCoy (149) picked up a victory over Dylan Falck to lead the Storm. McCoy defeated Falck by a final score of 13-5, collecting his third major decision of the season.
Jakob Slavin (165) and Shyler Langley (174) were victorious in back-to-back weights to pace Simpson in its second dual of the day. Slavin posted a 12-8 decision over Kamden Goering and Langley registered his second technical fall of the season in a 19-3 win over Skyler Shuman.
