Storm rally falls short as Coe pulls away late

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson College women's basketball team rallied to erase a double-digit deficit but fell 82-68 to Coe after a strong finish by the Kohawks.

Fueled by 10 points from Maddax DeVault, Simpson (11-10, 7-5 A-R-C) ignited a 18-9 run in the second half to level the game at 59-59 with 7:32 left in the fourth. However, the Kohawks (17-4, 9-3 A-R-C) responded emphatically, drilling three 3-pointers to reclaim control and closing the game on a 23-9 run.

Both teams knocked down 12 shots from long range, but the Kohawks outscored the Storm 36-18 in the paint, converting 62.1 percent of their attempts inside the arc.
