Nash becomes three-time all-region performer

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Senior Cassie Nash has been selected to the D3hoops.com All-Region 9 Second Team for the third consecutive season.

She joins Stacey Schutjer as the only three-time all-region performer in school history. Schutjer also earned second team recognition in three consecutive years (2010-12).

Nash averaged 15.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 3.2 steals and 1.3 blocks in 23 games, shooting 57.9 percent overall (12th in DIII). She scored double-digit points in all but four games and notched eight games of 20 or more points.

Along with her three all-region awards, Nash is a four-time All-American Rivers Conference performer and two-time A-R-C Defensive Player of the Year. She was recognized on the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week two times in her career and chosen as conference player of the week on five occasions.

Simpson's all-time steals leader ended her basketball career ranked fifth all-time with 1,586 career points. She also ranks top five in assists (377), made field goals (634), field goal attempts (1116), made free throws (297), free throw attempts (448) and field goal percentage (56.8).
