Storm push win streak to five with home victory over Beavers

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Haley Rasmussen scored 13 points to lead four players in double figures and the Simpson College women's basketball team picked up its fifth American Rivers Conference win of the season with a 75-55 victory over Buena Vista.

  • The Storm (10-6, 4-2 A-R-C) pulled away in the first half with a 22-0 run spanning across five and a half minutes. Cassie Nash scored seven points during the stretch, while Haley Rasmussen hit a pair of threes.
  • Simpson led 51-18 at the break following a last-second 3-pointer by Macy Gaskill.
  • The Beavers (1-12, 0-6 A-R-C) were held to 1 of 11 shooting behind the arc in the first half, but made 5 of 8 attempts in the second to trim the final margin down to 20.
  • Buena Vista won the third quarter 19-14 and the fourth 18-10.

  • Simpson widens its lead in the head-to-head series to 27 games, 59-32.
  • The Storm have won five straight games and are currently ranked third in league standings behind their Saturday opponent, Loras.
