CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Cassie Nash recorded her first double-double of the season, but the Simpson College women's basketball team could not overcome a tough third quarter and fell 63-54 to Coe in Wednesday's American Rivers Conference action.
Simpson (11-9, 6-5 A-R-C) led for the duration of the first half but fell behind 44-33 after a big 24-4 third quarter from the Kohawks (17-4, 8-4 A-R-C). The Storm got as close as seven points in the fourth but Coe had an answer for every run to hold on for series split.
Nash registered 19 points and a career-high 14 rebounds for her first double-double of the year and fourth of her career. She also had four steals, increasing her school record to 343 career steals.
