Women’s basketball cruises to wire-to-wire win over Bethany Lutheran

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Cassie Nash produced a game-high 16 points and five assists to lead the Simpson College women's basketball team in a wire-to-wire victory over Bethany Lutheran on Friday afternoon. 

The Storm (6-6) led 47-35 at halftime and doubled their lead to 24 with a 14-2 run to start the second half. Simpson built its advantage to as many as 27 in the fourth quarter, ultimately winning 90-68.

Simpson had seven players score seven or more points and shot a season-high 50.8 percent from the floor. The Vikings (1-11) managed to knock down 11 3-pointers, but the Storm doubled up their foes 52-26 in the paint and made 19 of 24 free throws.

  • The Storm improve to 4-0 in the all-time series with the Vikings.
  • Simpson's 50.8 percent shooting clip is the team's highest since converting 63.3 percent of its shots against Dubuque on Feb. 21, 2023.
