Nash lands on D3hoops.com Team of the Week

INDIANOLA, Iowa - A day after being named American Rivers Conference Player of the Week for the fourth time in her career, senior Cassie Nash landed a spot on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week.

The Team of the Week presented by Scoutware is D3hoops.com's weekly honor roll, in its 26th season of recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week. Nash is the first player to be recognized from Simpson since Regan Freland on Dec. 14, 2021.

Simpson's new all-time steals leader totaled 44 points, 12 assists, 12 steals and five rebounds across two double-digit victories over Buena Vista (98-71) and Dubuque (79-67). Her efforts helped the Storm jump two spots in league standings going into the final week of the regular season.

Against the Beavers on Wednesday, Nash recorded 25 points, five assists and five steals. She then added 19 points, seven assists and seven steals to her weekly total on Saturday against the Spartans. Across both games, she shot nearly 75% from the floor and made 10 of 15 free throws.

Nash leads the conference and ranks top-10 nationally in steals per game (3.95) and field goal percentage (58.2). In league games only, the Lincoln, Neb. native ranks top-2 in points per game (16.0), field goal percentage (57.5%), assists per game (4.7), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.9), and steals per game (4.0). She is tied for third in blocked shots per game (1.3).

The Storm embark on their final road trip of the regular season tomorrow and will face Nebraska Wesleyan at 5:30 p.m. Simpson will then host Central for Senior Day at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
