Luderman selected to NFCA All-Region squad

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Junior catcher Maddie Luderman picked up another postseason award on Monday afternoon, earning First Team All-Region IX honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).   

The all-region distinction comes after being named All-American Rivers Conference First Team and CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team. She joins 383 other student-athletes on the 2022 NFCA Division III All-Region teams. 

Starting all 37 games for the Storm, Luderman hit .375 with eight doubles, six home runs, a triple, 23 walks and 27 RBIs during her junior campaign. She posted the third-highest OPS in the conference with a .625 slugging percentage and .474 on-base percentage and ranked eighth with a .986 fielding percentage.  

Luderman tallied 12 multi-hit games and drove in multiple runs on nine occasions highlighted by a four-RBI performance against Dallas on opening day, which led to A-R-C Player of the Week honors. She reached base safely in 19 straight games and boasted a nine-game hit streak at the beginning of the conference season. 

All honorees move forward to be considered for selection for the three NFCA Division III All-America squads, which will be announced on May 24.
