Simpson adds 51 to A-R-C All-Academic Team

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The American Rivers Conference released the spring sport members of the 2021-22 All-Academic Team on Wednesday and 51 student-athletes from Simpson College met the requirements for recognition.

Simpson had the fourth highest total around the conference with 13 honorees from men's track and field, 12 from softball, 11 from women's track and field, eight from baseball, five from men's tennis and two from men's golf. The softball team's 12 selections were the most around the conference, while men's tennis tied for first in the league with five selections.

In total, Simpson had 127 student-athletes on the 2021-22 All-Academic Team. Along with the 51 spring honorees, sixty-two were recognized in the fall and 14 were recognized in the winter. 

To be eligible for A-R-C All-Academic Team honors, a student-athlete must be on the eligibility list for the sport of nomination, be at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least one year in residence and attain an accumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale).
