INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson College softball team has announced details for its Winter Diamond Dinner and Pitching Clinic event featuring American professional and former collegiate All-American softball pitcher Odicci Alexander.

The fundraising event will commence the morning of April 9 with a 4th-7th grade pitching clinic at 9 a.m. followed by 8-12th grade at 11:30 a.m. The program's annual Diamond Dinner hosted inside Hubbell Hall in the Kent Campus Center will take place that evening beginning with a cash bar at 5 p.m. followed by dinner and a special program with Alexander serving as the keynote speaker.

Alexander, a 2021 graduate of James Madison University, was named NCAA DI Softball's Woman of the Year last June after finishing the season with an 18-3 record in the circle including an 8-3 record during the Dukes' historic postseason run that ended in the semifinals of the Women's College World Series. The 2021 Softball America's NCAA Pitcher of the Year picked up wins over four top-10 teams during the season and boasted a 1.71 ERA with 204 strikeouts in 143.2 innings pitched.

At the conclusion of her career, Alexander became the fourth student-athlete in James Madison history to sign with the USSSA Pride. More recently, she was invited to participate in the 2022 USA Softball Women's National Team Selection Trials to be held Jan. 1-6 at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Florida.
