Luderman tabbed CoSIDA Academic All-District

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) selected Maddie Luderman to its 2022 Academic All-District Softball Team for her combined performance on the field and in the classroom.

Luderman becomes the 12th player in Simpson softball history to land on the academic all-district team. The Storm have had at least one honoree on each of the last four teams the organization has recognized.

A junior catcher from Bellevue, Neb., Luderman owns a 3.79 GPA while majoring in neuroscience. She was named to both the A-R-C All-Academic Team and Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete Team at the conclusion of her sophomore campaign, and picked up her first career all-conference nod a day ago.

On the field, Luderman led the team in nearly every category this season. She batted .375 while contributing 42 hits, 18 runs, and 27 RBIs in 112 at bats. Luderman accumulated 15 extra-base hits with eight doubles, six home runs and a triple, while also tallying 23 walks and a .474 on-base percentage. Behind the dish, Luderman threw out 11 runners attempting to steal and maintained a .987 fielding percentage.

Luderman will now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team selection process. First-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced in June.
