Storm place 19 on All-America Scholar-Athlete Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Simpson College softball team tallied 19 on the 2021 Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete Team, the organization announced Tuesday.

Olivia Allen, Emily Bell, Brynna Bowman, Blair Bowman, Carina Covington, Megan Crockett, Jessica Cruz, Brooke Fonley, Camrey Leo, Maizee Lindsey, Maddie Luderman, Molly Platte, Randie Richmond, Maxie Saceda-Hurt, Caitlynne Shadle, Taylor Stamm, Laurel Stice, Sara Trent and Brooke Tucker placed the Storm at the top of the American Rivers Conference with the most selections for a squad.

Simpson ended the 2021 season with a 16-18 overall mark and went 13-11 in A-R-C play. Richmond and Crockett were first team selections on the All-A-R-C squad, while Leo was on the second team. Outside the classroom, Bell and Leo were tabbed CoSIDA Academic All-District selections.

Over 8,800 student-athletes were named 2021 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes for the highest total in Association history. It marked the second consecutive year (2018-19) achieving the 8,000-plus plateau.
