Nationally ranked Prairie Wolves get past Storm

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Despite some early hot shooting from the Simpson College men's basketball team, No. 23 Nebraska Wesleyan held on for the win on Wednesday evening at Cowles Fieldhouse.

The Storm (8-15, 2-12 A-R-C) excelled from beyond the arc, but the Prairie Wolves (19-3, 10-3 A-R-C) dominated inside to offset the shooting.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Both teams had a bit of a struggle to start the game, but the Storm provided the game's first spark, with two 3-pointers from Easton Darling and one from Caden Rehmeier in a two-minute span.
  • Neither team led by more than five points until the Prairie Wolves seized all momentum with a 10-0 run over the final 4:30 in the period.
  • Darling's jumper with 12 minutes left to go in the game brought the Storm to within four at 47-43, but the Prairie Wolves responded again with a mini 5-0 run and began to stretch out the lead.
  • The Storm continued to battle, but Nebraska Wesleyan got more defensive stops down the stretch and seized control of the game.
