LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska Wesleyan jumped out to an early lead and never relinquished it, as the Simpson College men's basketball team fell on the road to start 2024.
The Prairie Wolves (11-2, 2-2 A-R-C) rode a fast start to claim their sixth straight win, while the Storm (6-8, 0-5 A-R-C) failed to continue the hot shooting from the previous game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Prairie Wolves scored the first 14 points of the game before a pair of Andrew Gibb free throws finally got the Storm on the board.
- The Storm responded to get the game within single digits after the Prairie Wolves started to slow down, but Nebraska Wesleyan opened up a 12-0 run over a five-minute span.
- Nebraska Wesleyan took a healthy lead into the halftime break after shooting 50 percent in the first half.
- Gibb tried to spark the Storm offense, along with Caden Rehmeier and Easton Darling, but the second-half gap was too much to overcome.
