Simpson on wrong end of second half goalfest

GALESBURG, Ill. - The Simpson College men's soccer team dropped its first road game of the season after six second half goals were scored, falling to Knox College by a score of 4-2.

The Storm (3-3) got a brace from Ronaldo Ordaz, as the senior continued his superb individual start to the season. The Prairie Fire (3-3) responded really well after Ordaz opened the scoring, converting two goals within a span of less than 45 seconds. Ordaz netted a penalty to draw the score back to 3-2, but the Prairie Fire added an insurance tally to take the win.

  • Knox added a third 15 minutes from time, but Simpson fought back again, with Ordaz putting a penalty kick into the left side of the goal, sending the keeper the wrong way.
  • The Storm continued to press for an equalizer, but Knox scored once more off a corner with less than seven minutes remaining.
