DECORAH, Iowa - Stacey Schutjer and Kate Nielsen combined for 32 points as the Simpson women's basketball team extended its winning streak to four with an 86-62 win over Luther on Saturday afternoon.
Schutjer scored a game-high 17 points and Nielsen 15 for the Storm (16-5, 9-3 Iowa Conference), who moved into a tie for first place in the league with Wartburg after Coe's 64-63 loss to Buena Vista.
Nicole Crisp added 10 points and six rebounds and Chelsie Rohrs handed out six assists.
Rohrs' bucket to start the second half sparked a 9-0 Simpson run to start the second half, opening a 40-34 lead at halftime into a 15-point advantage. Cathy Kain hit a pair of jumpers and Nielsen completed a three-point play during the rally.
Taylor Johnson scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Norse (5-17, 2-11), who shot only 28 percent from the field.
