DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Simpson women's basketball team surrendered a big run in the second half, falling to Loras 69-58 on Wednesday night.
Lindsey LaBadie scored a game-high 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Duhawks (10-7, 5-3 Iowa Conference), who pulled even with Simpson in the league standings.
Loras shot 52 percent from the field in the first half and finished at a 46 percent clip while Simpson managed only 35 percent.
Stacey Schutjer scored 14 points to lead the Storm (12-5, 5-3). Cathy Kain added 13 points on 3 of 5 shooting from 3-point range.
Ashley Rogers gave Simpson a 47-44 lead with 8:34 left in the game when she canned a 3. Loras held the Storm to only one field goal for the next 7 minutes, as part of a 16-3 run.
The Storm return to action Saturday when they host Wartburg in a 2 p.m. tipoff at Cowles Fieldhouse.
