DECORAH, Iowa -- Luther scored twice in the first half en route to a 3-0 defeat of the Simpson College men's soccer squad on Saturday.
The Storm (3-2-1, 3-2-1 A-R-C) are now fifth in the American Rivers Conference standings after today's loss. The Norse (4-1-1, 4-1-1 A-R-C) are tied for second after earning their fourth win in five tries against Simpson.
Luther scored in the fourth minute to open the scoring lid with its game-winner. The hosts added another goal just before halftime in the 45th minute and began the second half with a netter in the 47th minute.
The Storm tallied just one shot in the first stanza, but found its stride in the second with seven attempts. Luther finished with 16 attacks, with nine on-goal.
Simon Van Den Abbeele tallied six saves in goal for the most of his career.
