Trio garner top-five finishes at Dr. Tucker Open

DUBUQUE, Iowa -- On Friday, the Simpson women's track and field team took part in the Dr. Tucker Open at Loras College and had three top-five marks.

Katie Murano led the team with a second-place nod in the 5,000-meter race. The freshman raced in the event for the first time all season and captured the team's best time with a 19:33.20.

Katelyn Mangold added a third-place finish out of 13 runners in the 400-meter hurdles to her accomplishments thus far this year.

Kamryn Juni had a height of 1.43 meters in the high jump to clinch fourth to round out the top-five marks for the Storm.

The 4x400-meter relay compiled of Jaycie Owens, Abby Loecke, Cat Lucht and Sophie Hall tallied a time of 4:15.92 to land in sixth. Audrey Klein added a sixth-place result in the 800 meters.

The Storm will travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Thursday to begin the American Rivers Conference Championships. The three-day meet is hosted by Coe College.
