Trio of second-place performers pace Storm at Central Invite

PELLA, Iowa -- The Simpson women's track and field team wrapped up the Central Invitational on Saturday that spanned two days of competition. The Storm had a trio of runners that combined to score 24 of the team's 58 points.

Abby Loecke, Audrey Klein and Kaylee Willadsen paced the squad with second-place marks in their respective events. Loecke ran a blistering 2:27.73 in the 800 meters and Klein came in at 5:00.38 in the 1,500 meters. In the long distance event, Willadsen competed in the 10,000 meters and tallied a time of 44:42.48.

Kia Noibi had a time of 16.63 in the 100-meter hurdles for fifth place.

Kamryn Juni had a height of 1.52 meters in the high jump for third and Kia Noibi leaped 4.86 meters in the long jump for fourth.

The quartet of Cat Lucht, Kyli Orr, Klein and Loecke raced to fourth in the 4x400-meter relay.

Simpson will return to action in the Blue Oval Invitational at Drake University on April 12-13.
