Relays perform well at A-R-C Championships

WAVERLY, Iowa -- The relay teams shined for the Simpson women's track and field team on Saturday at the American Rivers Conference Championships.

In the final day of the championships, the 4x800-meter of Audrey Klein, Abby Loecke, Mary Wood and Cat Lucht earned fifth place. The 4x400-meter of Katelyn Mangold, Jaycie Owens, Kyli Orr and Luci Swarthout garnered seventh place.

The high jump produced two top-10 performances for the Storm. Jamie Glanz leadped 1.55 meters for seventh and Kamryn Juni recorded a distance of 1.50 meters for eighth.

Klein raced to eighth in the 800 meters by crossing the finish in 2:22.97. Mary Wood received 10th in the event.

The Wartburg Qualifier is up next for Simpson and will begin on Friday, March 1.
