Cord named IIAC Performer of the Week
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Simpson track and field athlete John Cord earned Iowa Conference Field Performer of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, April 21.
Cord, a senior from Atlantic, Iowa, placed third in the decathlon at the Kansas Relays on April 17-18. Competing in the event for the first time in his career, Cord scored 6,151 points despite cold, windy and wet conditions in Lawrence.
His point total currently ranks ninth in the nation in Division III.
