Storm close indoor season ranked ninth in region
INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson men's track and field team finished the indoor season ranked ninth in the Central Region according to the final US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Regional Team Index.
The Storm moved up a spot from No. 10 the previous week, finishing the indoor season with 96.59 points in the rankings, ahead of Hamline (94.16) and behind Gustavus Adolphus (113.25).
The rankings are determined by mathematical formulae based on current national descending order lists used to compile a team's ranking. The purpose and methodology of the rankings is to create an index that showcases the teams that have the best potential of achieving the top spots in the national-title race.
