Berkey wins long jump at Loras Easter Mid-Week

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Carter Berkey won the long jump to highlight the Simpson College men's and women's track teams' day at the Loras Easter Mid-Week.

Berkey leaped 6.64 meters in the long jump to win his first gold medal of the outdoor season. During this year's indoor campaign, the junior won both the long jump and triple jump at the Grinnell Invitational.

Ulysses Patterson also had a top-five finish in the long jump, placing fourth with a leap of 6.45 meters. He added a fifth-place finish in the 110 hurdles behind teammate Brenden Godbout who earned fourth with a time of 16.19. Clarke Latcham came in sixth in the event with a time of 16.53.

The women's team was led by Aryss Forbes and Haley Rasmussen who placed seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 400 meter dash. Aaliyah Johnson took 11th place in the 100 hurdles, and Tori White paced a group of four Storm women with a 14th place finish in the discus.

Up Next
The Storm men will send a few runners to the UW-Platteville Invitational on Friday before both teams host Central and Nebraska Wesleyan for a triangular on April 23.
