CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Simpson College placed five on the Spring 2021 All-American Rivers Conference Women's Soccer Team, led by sophomore Cassie Nash and senior Madi Strecker earning first-team honors, as voted on by the league's nine head coaches.

Junior Megan Roberts and sophomores Lizzie Arnburg and Abby Cozzoni land on the honorable mention squad.

The Storm finished third in the A-R-C standings with a 4-2-1 record for their best result since tying for third in 2011. Simpson was originally picked to end the season in fifth. Simpson registered four shutouts and conceded only four goals, which ranked third in the league. Head coach Jeremy Reinert's squad outscored their opponents 16-4 during the fall-to-spring season.

Cassie Nash, all-conference
A native of Lincoln, Nebraska, Nash scored four goals with two assists to earn all-conference honors in her first season with the Storm. Nash tied for fourth in the league in scoring and tied for sixth in total points. She scored the game-winning goals against Buena Vista and Central for the most on the team and also ended with two netters against the Beavers. Nash had 14 of her 28 shot attempts land on-target.

Strecker started all seven matches while helping Simpson finish third in the league with only four goals allowed. Against Coe on April 13, she assisted on back-to-back goals to Cambri Mason. Strecker earned conference player of the week honors on April 19 after assisting on two goals and shutting out two opponents.

Lizzie Arnburg, all-conference honorable mention
A native of Earlham, Iowa, Arnburg started all seven matches for the Storm to appear on the all-conference honorable mention team. She was part of the Simpson defense that shut out four opponents in seven matches. Arnburg tallied eight shot attempts with four on-goal during the season from her midfield position.
