Simpson ends season with 1-0 loss to Loras

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- After being selected to finish the regular season in fifth place, the Simpson College women's soccer team ended third in the American Rivers Conference standings on the heels of a 1-0 loss to Loras on Sunday.

Head coach Jeremy Reinert has now led the Storm (4-2-1, 4-2-1 A-R-C) to back-to-back top-three finishes for the first time in program history since the 2005-06 campaigns.

The Duhawks (7-1-0, 7-1-0 A-R-C) scored in the 29th minute on a goal that stood the rest of the way for the game-winner.

Simpson managed eight shots throughout the season finale, but only one was on-target. Loras attempted 14 shots.

Brenny Frederick capped off her rookie slate with six saves. Frederick ended the year with four goals allowed for third in the league.

Comments from head coach Jeremy Reinert
"I'm really proud of this team. Today was a battle. We went toe-to-toe with an excellent team and proved we can be one of the top teams in this conference.

The growth these seniors have earned in this program over their four years is incredible. They came to Simpson to turn a program around and they accomplished that and more.

This year has been so challenging in every way and to put together the season we did is truly special. I am so proud of the perseverance, sacrifice and joy each and everyone of these young women bring to the program."
