Aaron Fuller named Simpson head track and field coach

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Simpson College director of track and field and cross country Heath Moenck announced that former Doane University assistant coach Aaron Fuller will be the head coach of the Storm men's and women's track and field teams.

An experienced assistant coach with a strong record of success, Fuller comes to Simpson after helping Doane to an NAIA national championship in 2021.

"I'm thrilled to welcome Aaron to the Simpson family," Moenck said. "Aaron is an incredibly talented coach and I look forward to the positive impact he will have on our remarkable student-athletes and the overall success of our track and field program."

Fuller spent two seasons as an assistant track and field and strength and conditioning coach for the Tigers. In his last season with the Tigers, he helped the men's team tie for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championship.

"I would like to thank Marty Bell and Heath Moenck for this opportunity," Fuller said. "I am excited to work with coach Moenck and continue to build on the success of Simpson College track and field. Simpson is a wonderful place and I am looking forward to getting on campus and building relationships with the students and staff."

Prior to his stop at Doane, Fuller worked two seasons at NAIA Morningside College. He was an integral part in coaching Aurora Arevalo to a runner-up finish in the heptathlon at the 2019 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.

From 2014-17, Fuller coached at NCAA Division II Fort Hays State University. He started as a graduate assistant before moving into an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator position.

In total, Fuller has coached 10 All-Americans during his stops across NCAA Division II and NAIA institutions.

Fuller earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science and physical education from Central College in 2014 and a master's degree in health and human performance from Fort Hays State in 2016.

As a four-time letterwinner with the Dutch track and field program, Fuller tallied four all-conference honors, including a first-place performance in the pole vault at the league indoor championships in 2012. His name is still written in the Central record books with three top-10 marks, including a second-place nod in the indoor pole vault.

He resides in Indianola with his wife Courtney, and their two daughters, Madison and Mackenzie.
