NEW ORLEANS -- Simpson College men's track and field senior Ryan Courtney and sophomore Spencer Moon were named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Central Region Team, the organization announced.

Courtney shined in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while Moon excelled in both the 1,500 and 5,000-meter races this spring for the Storm.

Courtney ran a 9:22.84 at the American Rivers Conference Championships for the fifth-fastest time in the region and second-best mark in program history. The time resulted in a runner-up finish to earn all-conference honors.

In the 1,500, Moon crossed the finish in 3:53.22 for fifth in the region and third at the conference championships, while the time is second in team history. In the 5,000, he broke a 37-year-old school record with a blistering time of 14:26.13 at the Kip Janvrin Open to sit fourth in the region. He qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships after the performance on home soil clocked in at 10th best in the nation.
