Stewart wins title at Coe Open

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Zach Stewart won the 149-pound bracket and three other wrestlers placed third to highlight the Simpson College wrestling team's day at the Coe Open.

Stewart recorded two pins and two decisions on his way to his first tournament title while at Simpson. His first pin came against North Iowa Area Community College's Brady Clark in 4:02 and his second was against Brayden Phillips of Graceland in the semifinals. He topped Daneil Terronez (St. Ambrose) 3-2 in the title match.

Dylan McChesney (125), Shane Mathias (197) and Colton Kinnison (285) also had highly-successful days that ended with third place honors. McChesney and Mathias each went 4-1, while Kinnison won two of three.
