Storm compete at Grand View Open

GRIMES, Iowa – The Simpson College wrestling team made the short trip to Grimes to compete at the Grand View Open on Saturday.

Riley Kovaleski (157) led the Storm with four wins on the day, rebounding from a 10-5 loss in the opening round with a technical fall, a pin and two major decisions. His technical fall was via a 16-0 score, while his pin was his third of the season and the fastest by a Storm wrestler this season (0:53).

Colton Kinnison (285), Sam McCoy (157) and Nicholas Silva (125) each won two matches. Kinnison claimed both his victories by fall, while McCoy and Silva each recorded one pin to highlight their day.
