Storm fall to No. 1 Knights in league opener

WAVERLY, Iowa – The Simpson College men's wrestling team dropped its first American Rivers Conference dual of the season to No. 1 Wartburg, 46-3, on Wednesday.

Zach Stewart was lone winner for the Storm (0-2, 0-1 A-R-C), who competed on the road for the first time this fall. The senior trailed 2-1 going into the third period, but tied the match up with an escape early on. With less than 10 seconds on the clock, Stewart claimed a takedown to go ahead 4-2. Tony Ulaszek, who had amassed more than a minute of riding time in the first period, was unable to escape, setting the final score at 4-3.

The Knights (2-0, 2-0 A-R-C) won the final six matches and earned five pins, a major decision and two decisions overall in their home-opening victory.
