Pochop named IIAC Player of the Week
INDIANOLA, Iowa - Simpson men's soccer player Garrett Pochop earned Iowa Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, Sept. 11, the conference office announced earlier this week.
A junior midfielder from Pierre, S.D., Pochop scored three goals in three games as the Storm went 1-1-1 during the week. He netted two goals in a 4-3 win over Wis.-Superior and added another in a 1-1 tie to Concordia-Moorhead, giving him an IIAC-leading six goals on the season.
The accolade is the first of Pochop's career and first for a Simpson men's soccer player since Marcus Varnum took home the honor on Nov. 1, 2015.
