Men’s soccer battles to 1-1 tie with Concordia-Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn. – Garrett Pochop scored his Iowa Conference-leading sixth goal of the season and the Simpson men's soccer team dominated the stat sheet against Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday, but had to settle for a 1-1 draw to close the weekend.

Pochop scored the game-tying goal in the 53rd minute, his third in the past two days. Sam Stephens assisted on the goal, as the Storm (3-1-1) peppered the goal in the second half, taking 13 shots to Concordia's two.

The Cobbers (2-1-1) got out on top in the 30th minute when Sage Thornbrugh found the back of the net.

Simpson outshot Concordia 21-9, took six more corner kicks and put 14 shots on goal. Cobber keeper Ben Glogoza finished with 13 saves, while Chris Harris finished with two.
