Held earns two All-Central Region nods

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Simpson College baseball junior Brady Held becomes the third player in team history to land on the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings and D3baseball.com All-Central Region Teams, the organizations announced Tuesday.

Held was placed on the ABCA/Rawlings Second Team and D3baseball.com Third Team after a stellar season on the mound for the Storm. He joins Truman Schmitt (2019) and Austin Burlin (2016) as the other two-time recipients in a single season for the Storm.

The Indianola native led the American Rivers Conference in earned-run average (1.53), batting average against (.171) and hits allowed (36). He tallied a 6-3 record with four complete game performances. His 56 strikeouts were seventh in the league in 59 innings of work.

After starting the season with just one win in his first four appearances, Held closed the campaign with five straight triumphs, including three complete games. He allowed just two runs during that span.

Held was previously named to the All-American Rivers Conference First Team last week and earned the A-R-C Pitcher and Player of the Week awards once each during the season to pad his accolades.
