Simpson College announces 2021 baseball attendance policy

The Simpson College Department of Athletics, in order to provide a safe and positive experience for student-athletes, coaches, support staff and spectators during the COVID-19 pandemic, has announced its baseball attendance policy for the spring 2021 season.

Baseball games at McBride Field are open to the public. There is no limit on the number of spectators in attendance and no official pass list for entry. All spectators are required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing, in accordance with college protocols. Concessions will be closed. Outside food and beverage are not permitted in seating areas. Tailgating is also prohibited.

Additionally:

  • Parents and spectators are not permitted to interact with student-athletes or coaches prior, during or in-between games
  • Parents and student-athletes may interact after competition has ended
  • Food provided by parents to student-athletes must be individually wrapped and delivered outside of the dugout
  • Spectators will share the stadium seating behind home plate with Simpson fans occupying the third-base side and visitors occupying the first-base side
  • Simpson spectators will also use the grassy area on the third-base side
  • Visiting spectators will also use the grassy area on the first-base side

All policies are subject to change. The Simpson College Crisis Management Team will continue to monitor in-person attendance at outdoor athletic events.
